A cry for help sends them running, and they find one of their own shaken after an unseen presence spoke to her, warning that they have gone too far and should turn back. Mrs. Grayson explains that he lives between what was and what is, that the veil is his prison, and that he is breaking free because they are tearing down the walls Eleanor built to hold him.
